How do I enter KS2 Teacher Assessment Statutory Data?

Before guiding you through entering the data on ScholarPack please be aware of the following changes by the DfE to KS2 Teacher Assessment Data in the academic year 2018/2019:

Schools are no longer required to make statutory teacher assessment judgements in English reading and mathematics.  This change has been made in order to reduce assessment burdens on schools.

Where pupils are working below the standard of national curriculum tests, teachers will continue to have a statutory requirement to assess pupils using the interim pre-key stage standards and to report these judgements.

How do I enter KS2 Teacher Assessment Statutory Data?

In order to enter KS2 statutory assessment data please go to Admin > Students > Statutory Assessment > End of Key Stage 2 (or if you do not have access to Admin and your school has it set up Workspace > Statutory Assessment - for further information on setting this up please click here).

In this area on the left hand side you have the option to select the components you wish to mark against (to select multiple components please hold down the CTRL key or CMD key if you are using a MAC as you are clicking on the components). The components in orange are the Teacher Assessments and those in green are the Teacher Tests (please see here for further information on importing Teacher Test data for KS2).  If you are entering data for pre 2016 you may need to scroll down further and select the grey components.

Once the components are selected you would enter the result date and year you wish the marks to be assigned against.  Please be advised the result year is the year the students took the test not the academic year.

You then have some options about the table format you require:

  • For data entry allows you to enter the KS2 data.
  • Grid with data shows the data entered and you then have an option to print the results here if required.
  • Blank grid can be used if you wish to print off the table and enter the data manually before entering it on the system.

Enter the curriculum year that the students are in - in most instances this will be year 6, however if you are entering this for previous years you would select the year the student is in now.  You may need to enter this year group via Admin > Config > Core Set Up > Years in order to be able to access this year e.g. year 7 for those students who left in the previous academic year.

If you have more than one form per year group you can also choose to view this by class to enter the data separately for each group, if you don't select this it will show the whole year.

Click onto show only former students if you have an off roll student you need to enter data for, this will only show off roll students so you will need to unclick this and click choose again for the on roll students.

Once you select choose you will have a list of all students in the requested year group and can start entering the data.

When the data has been entered please ensure to save at the bottom of the page before navigating away.

Once the KS2 results have been entered please click here to see the guidance on exporting a CTF with the data.

What results can I enter for KS2 Teacher Assessment Statutory Data?

The pre-key stage 2 standards are to be used for assessing pupils engaged in subject-specific study, who are working below the standard of national curriculum assessments.  For further information on entering this data please click here

If pupils cannot communicate in English, they will be working below the overall standard of the English tests and should not take them.  In order to make a TA judgement, these pupils should be assessed using the pre-key stage standards if they are working below the lowest standard in the relevant framework.

P Scales 1 to 4 should continue to be used for statutory assessment of pupils not engaged in subject-specific student at the end of KS2.  For further guidance on entering P Scales please click here.
